Visit the Wichita Mountains

Lawton is known for the Wichita Mountains, and our refuge is award winning. Just a short drive from campus can transport you to another world where the bison, elk and longhorn roam freely, and the sunsets are to die for.

Check Out Mount Scott

Grab some friends for the five mile winding drive up Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains. Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, make it a workout! Regardless of how you get up there - the view from the top is worth it.

Visit Fort Sill

You'll need a visitor's pass to get on post, but Fort Sill holds much of the history of Lawton. Their museum boasts the rich history of the home of the Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery, and dates back to when the post was founded in the 1800s
